Die Mosaiken der Christlichen Ära. 1. t: Die Wandmosaiken von Ravenna
Julius Kurth's 1905 Berlin study of early Christian mosaics, its first volume cataloguing the wall mosaics of Ravenna for art historians and students of church decoration. Halftone plates reproduce sixth-century apse and nave scenes — Abel and Melchizedek at a draped altar, Theodora's court procession, roundel portraits of veiled women — offering frontal figures, jewelled borders and flat patterned grounds.
