Die typologischen Bilderkreise des Mittelalters in Österreich
An art-historical monograph by Hans Tietze on typological picture cycles of the medieval period in Austria, published in Vienna in 1904 for scholars of Christian iconography. The plates reproduce late medieval drawings and panel schemes in plain outline: Nativity and Annunciation groups, Jacob's ladder, robed angels, and crowned prophets holding lettered scrolls, offering designers clean contour figures, banderole shapes, and compartmented page layouts.
