Die Wandmosaiken von Ravenna
Julius Kurth's 1912 study of the wall mosaics of Ravenna, published in Munich by R. Piper for art historians and students of early Christian decoration. Halftone plates record fifth- and sixth-century mosaics: a haloed Baptism of Christ in a domed roundel, the Good Shepherd among sheep, a gridiron and open book-cupboard lunette, and rows of medallion heads useful as circular portrait frames and border motifs.
