The digressions of V., written for his own fun and that of his friends
An illustrated memoir by the American painter Elihu Vedder, published by Houghton Mifflin in Boston and New York in 1910 and addressed to his friends and to readers of the art press. The plates are halftones of his own work: chalk and charcoal head studies in profile, dark tonal allegorical figure paintings, and reproduced sketchbook leaves with handwritten captions, useful for grainy monochrome portrait heads and annotated drawing layouts.
