Discours touchant le point de veue : dans lequel il est prouvé que les choses qu'on voit distinctement, ne sont veuës que d'un il
A 1679 Paris treatise by the engraver Sébastien Le Clerc arguing that distinct vision occurs through one eye only, published by Thomas Jolly for readers of optics and perspective theory. The plates are engraved geometric diagrams: pairs of open eyes at the base, ruled sight-lines converging on lettered points, hatched and stippled cones of vision, and hemispheres shaded with concentric line-shells that a designer can lift as line-art eyes, ray fans, or ruled gradients.
