A pattern manual of ornament copied from ancient Roman buildings and fragments, engraved and published by Carlo Antonini in Rome in 1781 for painters, sculptors, architects, stonecutters, stuccoists, silversmiths, embroiderers and cabinetmakers. Plates show tall candelabra, tripod bases and pedestals in fine line engraving, each captioned in Italian, with acanthus sheaths, mask heads, winged figures, garlands and lion-paw feet available as isolated ornament units.
