The doll book
A collector's survey of dolls by Laura B. Starr, published in New York by the Outing Publishing Company in 1908 for hobbyists and antiquarians. Halftone photographs show single dolls and small groups against plain grey backdrops, in lace christening gowns, kimono, headshawls and aprons, offering costume detail, stiff frontal poses and soft tonal silhouettes for cutouts.
