Drawing in public schools : the system of instruction
A teacher's manual of drawing instruction written by Walter Smith, state director of art education in Massachusetts, and published in Boston in 1874 for public-school teachers and their pupils. The plates are outline exercises in line: pots and vases drawn in perspective with construction lines and lettered points, an acorn study, and a shaded anthemion ornament, useful as clean geometric line art, classical motifs, and diagram scaffolding.
