Drawings of old London by Philip Norman ..
A 1913 catalogue from the Victoria and Albert Museum's Department of Engraving, Illustration, and Design, listing the topographical drawings Philip Norman made of London buildings and alleys before demolition, issued by H.M. Stationery Office for museum visitors and antiquarian readers. The plates are tightly hatched views of narrow courts, cobbled yards, galleried inns and patched brick tenements, each with a few passers-by for scale, giving designers textured wall surfaces, crooked rooflines, shop signage and street-level figure groups.
