Dresde, Freiberg & Meissen
A volume on Dresden, Freiberg and Meissen written by Georges Servières for the French art-city series published by H. Laurens in Paris in 1911, aimed at travellers and students of Saxon art and architecture. The plates are halftone photographs of building fronts, carved stone pulpits and choir galleries, canopied tombs and kneeling effigies, giving designers grainy grey architectural detail, putto friezes and inscription panels set in heavy classical frames.
