Détermination expérimentale de la valeur du metre en longueurs d'ondes lumineuses
A scientific report by Albert Michelson with J. René Benoît and Ch. Ed. Guillaume, published in Paris by Gauthier-Villars in 1894, setting out for physicists and metrologists the measurement of the metre in wavelengths of light at the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures. The plates and text figures are line-engraved optical ray diagrams, lettered ray paths across tilted glass plates, sectioned apparatus with ruled hatching, and front elevations of comparator machinery, useful for precise instrument profiles, geometric path schematics and lamp and tube silhouettes.
