Illustrated catalogue of the ninth series of 100 paintings by old masters of the Dutch, Flemish, Italian, French, and English schools : being a portion of the Sedelmeyer Gallery which contains about 1500 original pictures by ancient and modern artists
A dealer's illustrated sales catalogue issued by the Galerie Sedelmeyer in Paris in 1905, cataloguing 100 old master paintings of the Dutch, Flemish, Italian, French, and English schools for collectors, museums, and the trade. The plates are halftone reproductions of paintings, mostly half-length portraits and figure studies with dark backgrounds, lace collars, fur trim, and soft-edged faces lit from one side, useful as tonal portrait stock and for period costume detail.
