A French technical treatise on the microscope and anatomical injections by Charles Robin, published in Paris by J.B. Baillière in 1849 for anatomists and medical students. Wood-engraved diagrams trace light paths through lenses, prisms and eyepieces in fine outline, some printed as white lines on solid black grounds, giving designers ray-tracing schematics, sectioned instrument barrels and lettered optical keys.
