Dutch pictures, with some sketches in the Flemish manner; and pictures done with a quill
A collection of travel and genre essays by the English journalist George Augustus Sala, published in London by Vizetelly in 1883 for a general Victorian reading public interested in Holland and Flanders. The plates shown are symmetrical wood-engraved tailpieces — scrolling foliage, urns, griffins, pendant beads and a small caryatid figure — usable as chapter breaks, rules and ornamental centrepieces.
