An English translation of French technical treatises by Jean Hellot, Pierre Joseph Macquer and Lepileur d'Apligny on dyeing wool, silk and cotton, printed for R. Baldwin in London in 1789 for dyers and manufacturers. Copperplate figures show vats, furnaces, stirring paddles, trestles and river-moored washing boats, keyed by letter, with cutaway views and workshop interiors useful as line-engraved equipment diagrams.
