Earthwork out of Tuscany; being impressions and translations of Maurice Hewlett
Essays and translations on Tuscan art and travel by the English writer Maurice Hewlett, issued in 1911 by Thomas B. Mosher of Portland, Maine, for collectors of small-press literary reprints. The plates are halftone reproductions of Italian Quattrocento painting, including a profile bust of a woman with pearl-bound braids against a dark ground, useful for period costume detail, hair ornament patterns, and soft tonal portrait silhouettes.
