The effects of tension and quality of the metal upon the changes in length produced in iron wires by magnetization ..

Brackett, Byron Briggs, 1865- · 1897 · Baltimore · 14 pictures

A physics dissertation by Byron Briggs Brackett, printed in Baltimore in 1897, reporting measurements of how tension and metal quality alter the length of iron wires under magnetization, written for researchers in magnetism. The plates are hand-drawn curves on printed graph-paper grids, labelled in cursive ink, giving designers fine ruled ground tones, rising and cresting line pairs, and handwritten axis annotations.
