Electricity on the farm

Confesor, Valentin · 1912 · 16 pictures

A 1912 engineering thesis by Valentin Confesor, submitted at the University of Illinois, on applying electric power and machinery to farm work. The plates are hand-drafted line graphs inked on green and yellow ruled graph paper, comparing power-generation costs per kilowatt-hour for steam, oil-engine and gas-producer plants, with hand-lettered axis labels and captions running up the page margins — usable as grid textures, annotated chart forms and period draftsman lettering.
