Electro-dynamic machinery for continuous currents
An 1896 technical manual on direct-current electrical machinery by Edwin J. Houston and Arthur E. Kennelly, published in New York by Johnston for engineers and electrical students. The plates are line diagrams of generators, motors and switchboard wiring — coil-wound field magnets, armatures with curved rotation arrows, polarity signs, rheostats and labelled feeders — usable as schematic ornament or engineering shorthand.
