Elementary astronomy; a beginner's text-book
Edward Singleton Holden's Elementary Astronomy, a beginner's text-book issued by Henry Holt in New York in 1899 for school and self-taught students. The figures are white-line diagrams reversed out of solid black: celestial spheres ruled with meridians and horizon circles, lettered orbit and sight-line constructions around a small rayed sun, and labelled poles and zeniths, useful as ready-made star-chart armatures, grid textures and technical annotation styles.
