Elementary lessons in astronomy
A school astronomy textbook by Norman Lockyer, published by Macmillan in London in 1889 for students beginning the subject. Its wood-engraved figures are lettered geometric diagrams of orbits, spheres and sight-lines, plus white-line drawings reversed out of dense black grounds; useful for circle-and-ellipse constructions, hatched sectors, and star shapes on night-sky fields.
