Elements of the art of dyeing : with a description of the art of bleaching by oxymuriatic acid
A technical manual on dyeing and chlorine bleaching by Claude-Louis Berthollet and his son, translated and expanded by the chemist Andrew Ure, printed in London by Thomas Tegg in 1824 for dyers, bleachers, and textile manufacturers. The plates are engraved elevations and sections of mill machinery — geared calenders, flywheels, cylinder washing frames — drawn in outline with grey and black wash, foldouts, and ruled scale bars, giving designers clean orthographic machine profiles and gear detail.
