An American school astronomy textbook by John Brocklesby, published by Sheldon and Company in New York in 1870 for secondary and college students. The plates are white-line wood engravings printed as light figures on solid black grounds: orbits, angles of incidence, shaded phase disks, and lettered rays, useful as ready-made reversed diagrams and celestial mechanics motifs.
