The elements of mechanics, comprehending statics and dynamics
A mathematics textbook on statics and dynamics by John Radford Young, edited by John D. Williams and published in Philadelphia by E.H. Butler & Co. in 1848 for college students. The plates group numbered line diagrams on one page: levers, pulleys with hanging weights, inclined planes, parabolic trajectories, hatched circles and spheres, and irregular shaded blobs marking centres of gravity, useful as sparse technical line work and figure-number typography.
