Antonio Palomino's treatise on painting theory and practice, first issued 1715–24 and reprinted in Madrid by Sancha in 1795, engraved by Juan Bernabé Palomino for painters and students. The plates are dense grids of geometric diagrams: solids, cones and spheres, perspective boxes with ruled vanishing lines, circles inscribed in triangles, numbered and lettered throughout, useful as line-drawn technical ornament.
