A Latin emblem book printed by Abraham Wagenmann at Nuremberg in 1617, collecting the annual commemorative medals struck for the University of Altdorf between 1577 and 1616, with academic orations explaining each device for students and faculty. Each engraving shows two circles side by side in a ruled frame: an obverse with a small allegorical scene and a motto running around the rim, and a reverse of centred Roman capitals and a Roman-numeral date, useful for seals, roundel devices, coin and medal motifs, and lettering set on a curve.
