Emblemata physico-ethica, hoc est, Naturae morum moderatricis picta praecepta : à Nicolao Taurello Montbelgardensi ... observata, & vario conscripta carmine
A Latin emblem book of moral lessons drawn from nature, written in verse by the physician-philosopher Nicolaus Taurellus and printed at Nuremberg by Christoph Lochner in 1602 for scholarly readers. Each small woodcut sets a single figure or animal in a hatched landscape of hills, walled towns and trees, with a strapwork shield of arms wedged into one corner—usable as compact vignettes, heraldic frames and stylised cloud and foliage texture.
