Emblemata politica. Quibus ea, quae ad principatum spectant breviter demonstrantur singulor vero explicatio fusius proponitur. Opus novum
A Latin emblem book of political maxims for rulers, compiled by Jacob von Bruck-Angermundt and issued in 1618 by Jacob van der Heyden in Strasbourg and Abraham Hogenberg in Cologne, addressed to princes and court readers. Each device is a copperplate roundel inside a double-ruled border, holding a small deep-space landscape: palisaded camps, domed and Gothic buildings, columns and urns on hilltops, a boulder in the foreground, sun rays breaking through banded storm clouds over a ship; useful for circular frames, engraved hatching textures, and compact symbolic vignettes.
