Emblemata sacra : hoc est, decades quinque emblematum ex sacra scriptura, de dulcissimo nomine & cruce Jesu Christi, figuris aeneis incisorum ...
Emblemata sacra, Daniel Cramer's Lutheran emblem book of fifty scriptural devices on the name and cross of Christ, engraved on copper and published by Lucas Jennis at Frankfurt in 1624 for pious Protestant readers. Each plate is a numbered roundel with a Latin motto on the rim, enclosing a heart pierced, kindled or wounded above hatched landscapes of towns, towers and cottages; useful for circular frames, emblem hearts and small figure vignettes.
