Emblemata varia Gregori KleppisI, poetae l. caesarij : incisa aeri, aphorismis et epigrammatis illustrata

Kleppis, Gregor, fl. 1620, Grale, Conrad, d. 1630 · 1623 · Lipsiae : [s.n.] · 112 pictures

A Latin emblem book by the poet Gregor Kleppis, engraved on copper by Conrad Grale and published at Leipzig in 1623 for learned readers of aphorisms and epigrams. The plates pair engraved German blackletter headings with wide looping penwork—overlapping circles, hairline spirals and swelled diagonal strokes drawn free of any baseline—useful as flourish ornament, rule substitutes, and models for writing-master lettering.
