Emblemi di Q. Orazio Flacco
An Italian edition of Otto van Veen's Horatian emblem series, etched in crayon-manner by Stefano Mulinari and issued at Florence in 1777 for collectors of prints reproducing old-master drawings. The 113 plates, printed in sanguine and brown to imitate red-chalk drawing, stage moral allegories with togaed figures, flying gods, classical arches and walled towns, offering stipple-grained figure groups, drapery studies and architectural backdrops.
