Emblems, divine and moral
A 19th-century London reprint (J. Robins, 1824) of Francis Quarles's and Christopher Harvey's 17th-century emblem books, edited by W. Walker Wilkins for devotional readers. Copperplate emblems, framed and captioned by book and number, set winged cherubs, skeletons, devils and dancing figures around a striped globe or heart, with open landscape behind — usable as compact allegorical vignettes and border frames.
