Embroidery silks
A trade catalogue of embroidery silks issued about 1900 by the Brainerd & Armstrong Co. of New London, Connecticut, for needleworkers and the shops that supplied them. Wood-engraved plates show skeins, hanks and twisted floss with printed paper bands and hanging tags, rendered in fine white line against solid black grounds, giving designers ready-made texture studies of thread, tassel silhouettes and period label lettering.
