[Embroidery and textile designs
An unpublished album of embroidery and textile design studies, drawn in charcoal and graphite around 1875 by an unnamed hand and now at the Clark Art Institute Library, made as working reference for needlework and fabric patterning. The 131 sheets show repeat motifs, stitch textures and scattered sprig fields worked in smudged black on toned paper, useful for hand-drawn pattern fills and rough texture overlays.
