An endeavor towards the teaching of John Ruskin and William Morris. Being a brief account of the work, the aims, and the principles of the Guild of handicraft in East London
C. R. Ashbee's 1901 account of the Guild of Handicraft in East London, printed in London and addressed to sympathizers of Ruskin and Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. The plates are black-ground woodcut initials in which craftsmen and women work at benches, forges, presses and lathes inside the letterform, giving designers figural drop caps built from workshop scenes.
