English furniture and decoration, 1680-1800
A survey of English furniture and interiors from 1680 to 1800, compiled by the designer G. Montague Ellwood and issued in 1909 by J. Hoffmann in Stuttgart for cabinetmakers, architects and collectors. Plates are halftone photographs of single pieces and grouped sets shot against plain panelled walls, giving designers silhouettes of chair backs, cabriole legs and carved splats, plus veneer and inlay patterns on case furniture.
