Charles James Jackson's reference handbook of English, Scottish and Irish goldsmiths' marks, published by Macmillan in London in 1921 for collectors, dealers and museum cataloguers. Plates mix thousands of facsimile punch marks and date-letters with engraved armorial bookplates, tradesmen's billheads and line drawings of cups, beakers and mounted vessels, giving designers small stamped letterforms, shield shapes and ornamental silver outlines.
