Enquire within upon everything : to which is added: enquire within upon fancy needlework ...
A Victorian household reference compiled by Robert Kemp Philp and issued by Houlston and Wright in London in 1870, combining domestic facts, recipes and formulas with an appended manual of fancy needlework for home readers. The wood-engraved plates show crochet and tatted lace borders, looped edgings and a radial pillow-lace mat, printed white-on-black or black-on-cream, giving designers repeatable band patterns, scalloped fringes and a rosette medallion usable as rules, dividers and stamp-like ornaments.
