Epigraphia carnatica. By B. Lewis Rice, Director of Archaeological Researches in Mysore

Mysore. Dept. of Archaeology, Rice, B. Lewis (Benjamin Lewis), 1837-1927, Narasimhacharya, Ramanujapuram Anandan-pillai, rao bahadur, d. 1937 · 1894 · Bangalore Mysore Govt. Central Press · 21 pictures

A government survey of inscriptions from Mysore, compiled by B. Lewis Rice and Narasimhacharya for the Mysore Department of Archaeology and printed at the Bangalore Government Central Press in 1894, intended for epigraphists and colonial administrators. The plates reproduce copper-plate and stone inscriptions as white Kannada and Grantha lettering on solid black grounds, giving designers dense reversed-out script textures, ruled columns, and punched binding holes.
