Essai météorologique sur la véritable influence des astres, des saisons et changemens de tems : fondé sur de longues observations, & appliqué aux usages de l'agriculture, de la médécine, de la navigation, & c.
Giuseppe Toaldo's essay on the influence of stars and seasons on weather, translated into French with Aratus's Phaenomena and printed at Chambéry by M.F. Gorrin in 1784 for farmers, physicians and navigators. The plates are letterpress: ruled tables of barometer, thermometer and lunar-phase readings studded with astronomical symbols, framed by borders of woven-rope rule, urn and mask fleurons and diaper-pattern flower blocks that can be reused as rules, corner pieces and printers' ornaments.
