Essai sur les jardins
Claude-Henri Watelet's Essai sur les jardins, a treatise on garden design and landscape taste printed in Paris by Prault in 1774 for amateurs and estate owners. The scans hold typographic ornament rather than garden views: woodcut headpieces and tailpieces of rose sprays, flower baskets, palm fronds and rococo scrollwork with shields, usable as small black-and-white spot ornaments, rules and chapter breaks.
