An essay on electricity : explaining the theory and practice of that useful science; and the mode of applying it to medical purposes ; with An essay on magnetism
George Adams's 1785 treatise on electricity, magnetism and electrical medicine, printed in London at the Logographic Press for sale at his own Fleet Street instrument shop, with plates engraved by John Lodge for practitioners and instrument buyers. The engravings pack numbered figures across the sheet — Leyden jars, electrostatic machines, insulating stools, armillary spheres, compass needles, a seated patient wired for treatment — giving designers a stock of small labelled apparatus outlines and dense diagram-grid layouts.
