A late seventeenth-century English drawing manual, compiled from earlier masters and printed for Dorman Newman in London in 1688 for apprentices and amateurs learning to draw, etch, engrave, limn and paint in oil. The plates are numbered line engravings of body parts studied in isolation — torsos, arms, hands, legs and feet — plus diagrams measuring the hand in ruled units, usable as outline figure studies and anatomical spot art.
