An exhibition of antique sculpture, vases, bronzes, &c., &c.,; Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Italian, from the Hope, Peel, Kennedy, Clephan, Hilton Price, and other collections
A 1919 London sale catalogue issued by the dealers Spink & Son for an exhibition of Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Italian antiquities drawn from the Hope, Peel, Kennedy, Clephan and Hilton Price collections, aimed at collectors, museums and the trade. Halftone photographs show marble statues and fragmentary torsos lit against black, plus painted vases with figure friezes and palmette bands, giving designers isolated classical figures, silhouetted vessel profiles and repeatable ornament borders.
