Experimenta nova (ut vocantur) magdeburgica de vacuo spatio
Otto von Guericke's Latin report on his vacuum and air-pump experiments, printed at Amsterdam in 1672 for natural philosophers across Europe. Engraved plates set numbered figures into open landscapes: men working sphere-and-piston apparatus, the Magdeburg hemispheres, ray diagrams with dotted sightlines, and concentric planetary orbits ringed with stars, all usable as line-only scientific vignettes.
