Explication des ouvrages de peinture et dessins, sculpture, architecture et gravure, des artistes vivans
Official Paris Salon catalogue listing paintings, drawings, sculpture, architecture and prints by living artists, issued in Paris by the exhibiting societies and sold to gallery visitors as a room-by-room guide. Illustration is mostly functional: engraved hall plans with numbered rooms and hatched walls, a wood-engraved emblem of winged putti around a monogram cartouche lettered "Administration, Lois, Sciences et Arts", dense name-and-number typography, and a pressed pansy flattened between pages.
