Notes by Sousa Viterbo on the catalogue of an ornamental art exhibition, printed by the Imprensa Nacional in Lisbon in 1883 for students of Portuguese decorative art and museum visitors. Phototype plates after photographs by Carlos Relvas show church metalwork isolated against dark grounds — crucifixes, a foliate processional cross, a tiered monstrance, an engraved chalice — usable as silhouettes, repoussé relief detail, and engraved inscription lettering.
