Expositio fragmenti tabulae marmoreae : operibus caelatis et inscriptionibus Graecis ornatae Musei Borgiani Velitris
A Latin antiquarian monograph by Arnold Hermann Ludwig Heeren, printed in Rome by Antonio Fulgoni in 1786, explaining a fragment of an inscribed marble tablet with carved reliefs in the Borgia collection at Velletri, addressed to classical scholars and collectors. Engraved plates record the broken slab with its Greek lettering and small relief scenes, while the letterpress supplies woodcut headpieces of sphinxes flanking a lyre-player medallion, tritons trailing garlands, and initials set into landscapes with arches.
