Fairland's juvenile artist, or, Easy studies for beginners in drawing, of figures, animals, shipping, and landscape
A drawing manual of graded lithographic exercises by the English lithographer and painter Thomas Fairland, issued by Charles Tilt in London in 1838 for beginning students copying figures, animals, shipping and landscape. Plates group isolated studies on blank grounds — horse eyes, muzzles and hocks, foliage clumps, tree trunks, rigged bows under sail — in soft crayon tone useful as spot motifs or repeated specimen grids.
