The founding Rosicrucian manifestos — the Fama fraternitatis with the Confessio and replies from Adam Haselmeyer and others — printed in German by Andreas Hünefeldt at Danzig in 1615 for scholars and heads of state across Europe. Decoration is limited to jobbing woodcut initials filled with knotted strapwork and small mask-and-scroll tailpieces, printed with heavy ink spread and visible paper grain.
